Meet the Connect Team

~

Luke Gordon

Lead Pastor

Luke joined the Connect team in October, 2021 as the new Lead Pastor. He is a gifted public speaker and leader and is passionate about what a community of people can do when they’re on mission together. Above all else, Luke loves his family. His wife, Morgan, is a teacher and mother to their three children, Elliette, Emersyn, and Scotlyn. Together, they enjoy everything from exploring the outdoors to building science projects.

Luke is an avid outdoor enthusiast, musician, and a self-proclaimed, below-average comedian.

Twyla Baschuk

Operations

Twyla is your typical small-town girl that moved to Saskatoon over 15 years ago. She loves nature, music, and food, and has a servant's heart. Twyla started off in Early Childhood Development and has worked with children and families for both the Provincial and Federal governments before starting several businesses both in Northern Saskatchewan and in Saskatoon. Now, with several years of experience in Marketing, Sales, and Advertising––in addition to being involved in over 30 charity events and service groups––Twyla is part of the Connect team and brings a wealth of knowledge to our community.

Steph Peters

Kids connect leader

Steph is a born and raised Saskatchewan girl who has lived in Osler her whole life. When she's not working she can usually be found reading, baking or playing with her "nieces". While timid and introverted, Steph has a heart of gold and is excited to meet your family. She leads our Kids Connect program on Sunday mornings and is your go-to for all things kids-related in our community.

Peter Quinlan

Music director

Peter’s musical career began in Lethbridge where he completed his grade 10 piano and toured the world with his high school choir. He then took a combined atmospheric science and music degree from the University of Alberta. During those years, Peter began leading worship, started a choir and oversaw the music ministry at South Edmonton Alliance Church. He then became involved in worship and leading choir at Elim Church for 8 years and is currently completing his Masters of Divinity at Ambrose University. Peter also works as a meteorologist for Global News, covering weather for Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Kelowna and Regina.

Zack St. Louis

guitar & vocals

Zack is a passionate worship leader with a heart to share the Gospel and to help others experience the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit through worship. Zack grew up in the Church and first began leading worship in elementary school. He is a classically trained vocalist and enjoys performing in various choirs, ensembles, and musical theatre productions outside of church. Zack is also trained in acoustic guitar and loves playing and singing in his spare time. Zack’s vision for worship is to facilitate a safe space to let God transform hearts and lives through genuine encounters.

Josh Palmer

Guitar & Vocals

Josh has been on the stage since the age of 8, a former Canadian Idol top 5 Finalist, he's Toured North America with his groups The Rebellion and The Sunset Kids. He's a 3 time nominee at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, 2 Time Nominee at the Sask Music Awards and Connect Church has been his home since 2013. He truly believes in helping others through music and Josh has been grateful to do so while playing for Connect.

Grant Sotnikow

Grant has been involved at Connect for over 10 years and enjoys being a part of it all. He is married with five wonderful children and other than spending time with his family, children, and music Grant enjoys cooking, electronic repairs, and oddly enough, doing renovations. He has also had the privilege to have played music at venues in almost every province in Canada.

Dan Canfield

technical director

Dan has been involved in sound production for more than 30 years. In that time he’s worked in studios, on live sound production as well as TV, movies and more. All these opportunities have given Dan a wide range of experience and knowledge. Dan loves sharing philosophies and ideas about production, life, and why the Oilers can't seem to win this year. Being a PK (pastor's kid), Dan has been around the church his whole life and has worked with Connect from the beginning. Dan also says that, “I can say Connect is a uniquely progressive and externally focused experience that I'm happy to be a part of.”
